NarrativE Architecture

We love Architecture as being a large scale expressions of narrative design. That is how we approach Narrative Architecture. Not only as a collection of functions and an urban context, but from an Experience and Storytelling point of view. What is the message that needs to be told by it’s Presence and Gestalt. How can we enhance Architecture and its manifestation.

All sections of the pavilion were received with great response by all visitors.”

    Mr. Saleh Abdulmohsen Bindakil
General Supervisor of Saudi Arabia’s Pavilion

  • “Melle has the rare combination of mastery of both creative and execution. He is methodical and systematic in his rigorous approach to developing the narrative and creative direction. His experience in execution allows him to explore freely new ideas and possibilities in the creative process knowing that he will connect the big idea all the way through to every detail.“

    Mr. Bruce Mau

  • “Our pavilion feels like home to me. It has a warm, cozy and open atmosphere and with our always friendly and smiling hosts it makes our family com- plete. The abstract design of our pavilion attracts visitors for making selfies and photo’s. The Kazakh press always ask me where the abstract design of the pavilion comes from. They like it a lot!”

    Ms. Evelien Bijl
Pavilion Director, Netherlands Pavilion Expo 2017 Astana

  • “Chinese visitors, foreigners of various nationalities, Algerians or officials… they all agree that the pavilion of Algeria is extremely original in its design. For myself, the impact of the pavilion at the event visitors and by comparison with other pavilion at Expo Shanghai is incredible. A clever and well thought through pavilion design, visitor flow, media experience and rational spatial occupation, revealed an artistic taste and accuracy in the reconstruction of the CASBAH, a subtle balance between the built volumes and audio visual systems.“

    Mr. El Hadi Boumaza
Pavilion Director, Algeria Pavilion, Expo 2010, Shanghai

Narrative Architecture is most often seen as part of Leisure and Destination design, where place is connected to a story and with that becomes meaningful or full of meaning and message. But certainly Brands also use Architectural expression as Key Message to their public.
